
The Director of Social Responsibility and Foundation Programs is responsible for leading, developing, implementing and supporting Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Foundation programs to advance community brand and strategic goals. The Director leads a team of Program Managers responsible for Corporate and Community Giving (charitable events and sponsorships, grants and in-kind giving), Corporate Volunteerism, annual Workplace Giving campaign, engagement programs as well as fundraising and scholarship programs for Desert Financial Foundation. The Director leads, coaches, and inspires a team of program managers responsible for planning, implementing, executing and reporting the impact of the key program initiatives that directly support the credit union and Foundation’s social investment priorities and strategy. This role collaborates with Social Responsibility and Foundation leadership and various stakeholders at multiple levels throughout the organization and is an integral member of the functional leadership team focused on the Give & Grow strategy of Desert Financial, the Foundation, and its mission of sharing success.
What you will do here:
Oversee Program Development, Project Management& Execution: Develop recommendations, set goals and manage projects for CSR and Foundation programs and fundraising aligned with our strategic objectives in collaboration with direct reports, indirect reports and leadership. Operationally lead the execution of key programs, projects and initiatives in collaboration with direct reports, indirect reports and leadership as needed. Support planning of programs from start to completion involving deadlines, milestones and processes with the goals that every program will be delivered successfully and add the highest possible social impact value. Contribute ideas for engaging team members, members and the community and promoting awareness of initiatives. Ensures legal and technical due diligence activities are completed and issues are addressed to ensure responsible implementation, oversight, and compliance.
Leadership and Collaboration: Monitors employee performance; uses sound management, coaching, and interpersonal skills to influence, motivate, and develop staff, including those who are not direct reports. Direct and indirect oversight of various committees dedicated to advancing our CSR and Foundation initiatives. Collaborate with large cross functional teams including Marketing, Strategic Partnerships, Market Mangers to enhance CSR strategies and secure commitments on deliverables as needed. Directly contribute to the development of leadership capabilities and functional expertise of direct reports. Hire, mentor, and train a team including goal setting, training, performance evaluation, and development.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement : Coordinate with leadership and Director, Operations to devise evaluation strategies and processes to monitor and track program performance and determine the need for improvements. Collaborate with the Program Managers to identify the initiative and programs that provide the most positive social responsibility impact to the community aligned to the Credit Union and Foundation strategy and social issue priorities. Provide regular detailed and accurate reports and/or presentations to keep leadership informed.
Nonprofit Engagement: Cultivate and maintain positive nonprofit relationships in alignment with the strategy. Represent the credit union and the Foundation as needed at community events to nurture and solidify relationships and create awareness of our impact.
Budget Management and Impact Reporting: Support the creation of annual budgets and work with Finance and CSR and Foundation leadership to ensure the accuracy of budget projections, the Give and Grow dashboard, and collaborate on monthly and yearly community impact reports (as needed).

What you will need:
Bachelor's Degree in Community or Public Relations, Social Work, Sociology/Social Science, Marketing, Business, or related field preferred.
Equivalent Combination Of Education And Experience. Required.
8+ years of experience in community relations, corporate philanthropy, nonprofit, foundation, employee engagement or related field required.
5+ years of leadership experience required.
Demonstrated knowledge of the CSR landscape, non-profit and public sectors in Arizona, and experience in developing, leading, and facilitating programs required.
Demonstrated track record of managing multi-stakeholder programs that drive employee engagement, business value and community engagement required.
Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) and good executive presence. Professional presence to be a trusted representative of the company with external stakeholders required.
Expertise promoting a culture of diversity and inclusion within the department and the larger organization. Values different ideas and opinions required.
Capacity to think holistically and strategically about the line of business and organization required.
Excellent listening skills to listen courageously and remain curious required.
Proficiency with MS Office Suite Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
Valid Arizona driver license. Motor vehicle record will be screened and the incumbent must meet Company guidelines. Required.
