About the Role:
The Program Manager, Community Impact will help bring H&R Block’s community commitment to life through volunteerism, nonprofit partnerships, department-led service and give-back programs that connect our people and purpose in meaningful ways.
Reporting to the Director of Corporate Impact, this role will support the strategy, planning and execution of H&R Block’s community impact portfolio, including Make Every Block Better, Belonging Group volunteerism, department-led give-back efforts, community partnerships and associate engagement programs.
This role is ideal for a highly organized, service-minded program manager who can turn strategy into clear plans, build strong relationships and create simple, meaningful ways for associates to serve their communities.
Day to day, you'll...
- Own day-to-day program operations, including planning, coordination, tracking, follow-up and execution support across key initiatives.
- Support the Director of Corporate Impact in advancing the overall strategy, with a focus on volunteerism, associate engagement, Belonging Group participation, department-led service and meaningful local connection.
- Manage the planning calendar, project plans, timelines, task lists and key deliverables for Make Every Block Better and related programs.
- Coordinate volunteer experiences from intake through execution, including Belonging
Group and department activities, event logistics, nonprofit partner needs, associate
communications, participation tracking and post-event recaps. - Serve as the central point of coordination for requests, opportunities and activations,
helping manage intake, prioritization, partner vetting, decision criteria and program
guidelines in partnership with the Director of Corporate Impact. - Partner with field, franchise and corporate teams to identify local service opportunities and provide practical tools, guidance and support.
- Identify and recommend strategic nonprofit and community partnerships that advance community impact goals, while managing partner relationships and ensuring
commitments and follow-through are documented and completed. - Track budgets, invoices, partner payments, participation, outcomes and other
operational details needed for reporting, stewardship and continuous improvement. - Develop and execute associate engagement and volunteer initiatives that inspire
participation and strengthen community impact; partner with Marketing and
Communications to promote opportunities, share impact stories, increase awareness,
and enhance H&R Block's community, consumer, and talent brand. - Prepare leader-ready updates, recaps, dashboards and recommendations that highlight progress, participation, risks, learnings and opportunities.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent community impact, nonprofit, partnership, or program management experience will be considered
- Five or more years of experience in community engagement, volunteer programs,
corporate citizenship, nonprofit partnerships, program management or a related field - Experience managing corporate volunteer programs, giving platforms, community
investment efforts or enterprise-wide associate engagement programs - Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage timelines, budgets,
details, stakeholders and multiple priorities at once - Ability to build trusted relationships with nonprofit partners, community organizations, associates, field leaders, franchise partners and cross-functional teams
- Clear, thoughtful communication skills with the ability to create updates, recaps, toolkits and materials that help others understand and engage in the work
- Comfort using data, feedback, dashboards and impact reporting to measure
participation, outcomes and opportunities for improvement - Collaborative, service-minded approach with strong attention to detail, a bias for follow through and a passion for helping associates connect with their communities
