About the role
Walmart's philanthropy team is hiring a senior manager to steer grantmaking that makes the company's general merchandise supply chains more sustainable and strengthens incomes for smallholder farmers. The position sits where the Walmart Foundation's giving meets the retailer's own sourcing priorities.
What you'll do
- Set strategy and priorities for sustainable production and market-access work with small-scale farmers, focused on Mexico, Central America and India.
- Design and oversee philanthropic investments end to end, from investment theses and partner selection to grant structure and performance tracking.
- Link human rights and worker well-being with environmental goals such as circularity, climate, waste and nature across production systems.
- Run supplier-facing programs on human rights and livelihoods, including training, measurement and learning.
- Work with internal business teams and outside nonprofit and industry partners to scale what works and report measurable results.
What they're looking for
- A bachelor's degree plus about 4 years in grantmaking, nonprofit management or a related field (or roughly 7 years of experience without the degree).
- Background in sustainability, social impact, international development, supply chain or program management; smallholder or merchandise supply-chain experience is a plus.
- A record of leading multi-partner initiatives and using data to guide decisions.
- Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder skills; project management certification or supervisory experience preferred.
